sketchbooks; mixed media

I've started collecting little bits of paper that I have found around my school. I have also started stealing the duplicates of stamps that my father has collected over the years. I think they are tiny artworks.

sketchbook

I have been working in a sketchbook for a few months and it's really nice to see it get fuller and harder to put the elastic around it. I move from one house to another every week so it's also great because it is portable and small but still sturdy. I have also unintentionally started using a lot of blue and it seems I am going through a blue period (like Picasso!) and have been having a go at mixed-media and by cutting out different coloured paper and images from National Geographic. Such fun!

the creases in a piece of cloth

Here are some drawings I made a last year and before. I don't regret drawing this way, I regret thinking this was the only way to draw. I guess it has helped me draw how I do now. It helped me to find the smallest detail and make it important. It has also given me patience -- these would have taken a long while!

small palm; greenhouse

I made this a few months ago when I decided to stop restricting my art. All my life I have been very deluded and equated 'good' art with 'realistic' art. I now just draw as I feel to, not worrying about what category it fits into or how others may view it. I have since become more free with my art and am excited for the future.
